Et Tu Literature Class?

In Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare, Brutus decides to join the conspirators and assassinate the man who was his good friend, Julius Caesar. Comment on this blog and write at least 500 words on what you would have done had you been in Brutus's shoes. Would you have joined the conspirators? Would you have just stayed out of the entire situation? Would you have told Caesar about the plot to take his life? Explain why you would have done what you did as well. It is accepted and encouraged to agree or disagree with other students' posts, and if that does happen you can post another comment (although any post after your first will not be critiqued for length) to respond to that student. If you do decide to disagree with another student, do so politely and do not ridicule or make fun of your fellow classmate. Most importantly, have fun with this assignment! This is your opportunity to let your voice and opinion be heard.

Bludgeon or Bloodgeon

In Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare, Caesar is murdered by a number of people in the court house by being stabbed to death. A mistake students often make when talking about someone being stabbed to death is that they were "bloodgeoned." This is an "eggcorn" and the real term is bludgeoned. While you may think "bloodgeoned" would be correct because of the person being stabbed and there being blood, it is actually incorrect.

As a response, write one "eggcorn" that you have used in the past or seen someone else use.
